Volvo's latest marketing strategy seems to be that of cashing in on the cricket fever. The carmaker has announced its association with the India V/s South Africa ODI matches. "We are presenting the new Volvo S80 twin-turbo Diesel to the man of the series, adding to the excitement that cricket already attracts in India," said Paul de Voijs, managing director, Volvo Auto India. The Volvo S80 is one of the most expensive cars presented at a tournament in India. One can see a shining Volvo S80 displayed at all three venues of the matches: Jaipur, Gwalior and Ahmedabad.
Volvo has a history of being associated with sports events around the world. "Association with sports gives us inspiration as well as exposure. Tournaments serve as an ideal platform for us to showcase our brand and interact with our potential customers," said Paul de Voijs.
The Volvo S80 on display comes with a twin turbo five-cylinder engine and Peizo high-pressure technology with a mileage of approximately 13.1kmpl. The car emits low CO2 (203 g/km) and has all of Volvo's signature safety features. So, it remains for all to see as to who drives the Volvo S80 home!
