Tata Aria Headed to the US as well

Tata Motors is making its presence felt world over. First it was the Tata Nano and now it seems that the overseas markets are going to get the all new seven-seater Tata Aria. Tata Motors is not all set to target the developed markets like Europe and United States for its Tata Aria crossover utility vehicle (CUV). The Tata Aria is expected go on sale in the United Kingdom in spring 2011. News is that Tata Aria would reach several other European markets in the months to follow. This is not all Tata Aria is expected to be launched in the United States as well. Tata Aria has been designed to meet European crash legislation and Tata Motors is aiming for a four-star EuroNCAP rating.

The all new Tata Aria is being dubbed as the most sophisticated Tata till date. The Tata Aria CUV in India would come with a four wheel drive option. Tata Aria was also on display at the recently-concluded 80th Geneva Auto Show. The Tata Aria is designed as per global standards and would be available in the domestic market by the second quarter of this calendar year with a piece tag of Rs. 12.5- 14.5 lakh.

Tata Aria is a versatile cross-over and with features common to premium SUVs it is bound to make a mark for itself. It is an eight seater luxurious MUV build on the roadster concept and comes with a 2.2L, DICOR (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine (same as Tata Safari). The engine produces 140bhp power at 4000rpm with 320Nm torque at 1700-2700rpm. Aria is expected to be launched in three variants and all variants will be available with both 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) and 2WD (Two Wheel Drive Option).

Tata Aria is built to be luxurious and comfortable crossover and would have pretty high end features. Tata Aria would have leather covered steering wheel, gear shift knob and leather seats, headrest mounted LCD screen, power and tilt steering, power windows at all four doors, automatic climate control AC, keyless entry, advanced CD/MP3 audio system, cup holders on floor console, cigarette lighter and ash-tray in front console, rear wash and wiper, electrical glass demister, digital outside temperature indicator, etc. These are some of the high end features found only in very expensive and top end SUVs.
